Post – COVID travel: insights on Europe

Conference Dates September 2, 2020  5:00 PM GMT

The tourism economy has been heavily hit by the coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, and measures introduced to contain its spread. Depending on the duration of the crisis, revised scenarios indicate that the potential shock could range between a 60-80% decline in the international tourism economy in 2020. Beyond immediate measures to support the tourism sector, countries are also shifting to develop recovery measures. These include considerations on lifting travel restrictions, restoring traveller confidence and rethinking the tourism sector for the future.
The European Chapter of the Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) is committed to bringing the latest and most up-to-date thinking on how best to address the current crisis faced by the travel and tourism industry across Europe. With this in mind, today’s webinar offers an opportunity to listen to the expert views of seasoned professionals from both practice and academia, on how they see Covid-19 impacting on the tourism landscape in Europe.
More importantly, they will endeavour to look to the future and surmise what travel and tourism might look like across Europe post-Covid 19.
